Why Rollerballs Demand Better Formulation
A rollerball sits directly on your skin for hours longer than a candle diffuses through a room. This proximity matters. Your skin absorbs what you apply, which is why our rollerball formulations prioritize clean, functional ingredients that deliver both fragrance and care.
Unlike alcohol-based perfumes that evaporate quickly, oil-based rollerballs maintain contact with your skin. This means every ingredient needs to serve a purpose.
The Foundation: Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil is our carrier base, chosen deliberately. It's not filler. Jojoba closely mirrors your skin's natural sebum composition, meaning it absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue. Rich in vitamin E, it provides antioxidant protection while extending the longevity of fragrance oils on your skin.
This matters for pulse point application wrists, inner elbows, behind the ears. Areas where skin is thinner and blood flow is higher naturally amplify scent projection. Jojoba oil supports this without clogging pores or causing irritation.
Flower Extracts: The Heart Notes
Our formulations feature botanical flower extracts rather than fragrance ingredients created to replicate floral scents. Rosa Damascena (Damask rose) and Jasminum Sambac (jasmine) appear across our collection because they're time tested botanical sources. These are genuine flower extracts that retain much of the plant's natural chemical complexity.
A single Damask rose contains over 300 chemical compounds. Capturing that same level of complexity through fragrance formulation is challenging. Botanical extracts preserve many of these naturally occurring compounds, which is why the rose in our rollerball offers a more layered and nuanced scent profile.
The result is a fragrance that reflects the character of the flower itself, with depth and variation that evolve over time.
Essential Oils: Depth and Performance
Cyperus Scariosus (nagarmotha), Pogostemon Cablin oil (patchouli), and Juniperus Virginiana (cedarwood) are essential oils that provide base notes and structural integrity to the blend. They ground lighter florals and prevent fragrance from reading one-dimensionally.
Patchouli, for instance, has natural antimicrobial properties. Cedarwood brings not just scent, but a slight astringent quality that helps fragrance wear steadily on the skin. These are functional choices, not arbitrary ones.
Transparency You Can Verify
We list specific botanical names alongside common names. This transparency matters. Anyone can cross-reference Pogostemon Cablin and confirm its patchouli. You're not guessing what "fragrance" means when you see the exact plant source.
We exclude phthalates, and undisclosed fragrance compounds that many conventional perfumes hide under the blanket term "fragrance." Our bottles list everything. If an ingredient isn't listed, it's not in the product.
How to Use Your Rollerball
Apply to pulse points where blood vessels are closest to the skin surface: inner wrists, inner elbows, behind ears, and the base of your throat. The warmth of these areas naturally releases fragrance throughout the day. One application typically lasts 4-6 hours depending on the concentration and your skin chemistry.
Layer with a matching candle during work hours for a reinforced sensory experience, or use alone as your personal fragrance ritual.
Your skin deserves ingredients that are honest and functional. That's what you get here.
